Marshall County Reports Highest Single-Day Increase in COVID-19 Cases since January

Indiana’s daily increase in COVID-19 cases has surpassed 4,000 for the first time since January. Another 4,120 cases were reported in Friday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.

Marshall and Pulaski counties also had their highest single-day increases since January, with 36 new cases in Marshall County and 11 in Pulaski County. Starke County had three new cases. Statewide, another 14 Hoosiers have died of COVID-19.

Starke County continues to have the local area’s lowest vaccination rate with just over 38 percent of eligible residents fully vaccinated, compared to almost 43 percent in Pulaski County and almost 44 percent in Marshall County.

Meanwhile, the Bowen Center has announced that it’s once again expanding the hours of the drive-through testing site at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds in Warsaw, after the number of visits doubled from last week. Starting next Wednesday, the testing site will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.; and the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
