The Street and Sidewalk program in the City of Plymouth for this year now has a contractor.
Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt told the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night that E&B Paving was the lowest bidder at $446,816.40. He said the bidding paperwork was reviewed by City Engineer Rick Gaul and all looked to be in line with the bid submitted by E&B Paving. The board members approved the bid recommendation with a unanimous vote.
This year’s street projects include mill and fill projects on Fifth from Lake Ave. to the railroad tracks, Westgate from Hillcrest to State Road 17, Dickman from the dead end to Webster, Webster from Angel to Dickman, and Laporte from East Street to Kingston. A base reconstruction with hot mix asphalt is planned on Seventh from Harrison to Beerenbrook.
Mill and fill operations will be conducted on the cemetery street addition projects. A mill in place with hot mix asphalt surface will be done at the cemetery old addition phase one.
The last project includes Packard Woods Senior Center parking lot.
A start date will be determined at an upcoming pre-construction meeting.
