The North Center Street project in Bremen is now complete, according to Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy.
He told the Bremen Town Council members Monday afternoon that the signs are expected to be removed this week.
The project involved the installation of additional water, sewer and storm water infrastructure to accommodate an expansion of Southwire and two other properties. It will also be ready for any other expansion efforts in that area.
A portion of the road and sidewalks were replaced during the project as the street apparently crumbled during the installation of the infrastructure. Ken Jones from JPR previously told the council members that it was a good idea to do a full repair for safety and to get it done right. He said Monday afternoon that it added several thousands of dollars to the project, but the contingency fund was still able to absorb that cost.
The third change order for the project in the amount of $35,134 was approved by the council members.
Additionally, Weldy said the beautification project at the corner of Bowen and Plymouth Streets, where the new electronic sign is located, is done. Sod was being applied to the area Monday night.
