More Counties in the State Found with Moderate Community Spread of COVID-19

The number of counties in the state found to have a moderate community spread of COVID-19 is increasing as the number of positive COVID-19 cases increases. 

Wednesday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health shows an increase of nearly double the number of counties in the yellow status which indicates a moderate spread of COVID-19.  Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County remain in the blue status which indicates a low community spread of COVID-19. 

Newton, Montgomery, Knox, and Gibson Counties are in the orange status which indicates a high community spread of COVID-19.    

Another 731 positive COVID-19 cases were reported in the state in Wednesday’s update, with three new cases in Marshall County, one new case in Starke County and four new cases in Pulaski County.

Forty more people are in hospitals in the state suffering from COVID-19 symptoms while another seven people have died of COVID-19. 

The state’s updated long-term care facility dashboard shows 14 new resident cases from December 8, 2020 to July 14, 2021 and five new resident deaths from May 28, 2020 to July 12, 2021.  No new cases or deaths were reported at local facilities.
