The Marshall County Commissioners received a quarterly update from Director of Older Adult Services Janis Jeffirs Holiday during their last meeting.
She said the agency saw an increase of 76 people who have been assisted with rides on the Council on Aging’s public transportation fleet.
“Normally, it does down in the summer a little bit,” explained Janis Jeffirs Holiday. “It might be because of all the rain, but who knows? Our expenses pretty much stayed the same. We had a slight increase because we had a catalytic converter stolen off our brand new bus. That was over Memorial Day weekend. So, that cost us $2,000 to fix.”
She also presented a quarterly claim to INDOT in the amount of $81,956, which is a requirement. The commissioners unanimously approved the claim, along with the organization’s quarterly financial report.
