Chicago Man Arrested after Plymouth Traffic Stop Reportedly Turns up Drugs

A Chicago man faces additional charges, after he allegedly ingested cocaine while Plymouth Police were investigating him for possession of heroin. Officers say Robert L. Stevenson, 48, threw suspected drug paraphernalia out of the car he was driving, when they tried to pull him over on U.S. 30 near King Road Friday night.

A search of the car reportedly turned up heroin and legend drugs. But while they were investigating, police say Stevenson ingested a white powder that later tested positive for cocaine.

After spending the rest of the night and much of the following day in the hospital, he was taken to the Marshall County Jail. There, resisting law enforcement and intimidation were added to the list of potential charges.
