Bremen School Board Approves Reopening Plan

The Bremen School Board members approved the reopening plan during their meeting Wednesday night.

Students and teachers will have the option of whether or not to wear face coverings throughout the school day.  Superintendent Dr. Jim White stressed that face coverings are required when riding all school buses.  School buses are considered public transportation.  Under a federal mandate, anyone utilizing public transportation is required to wear a face covering.

School officials will continue to require frequent hand washing and observe modified lunch scheduling and seating.  Everyone in the school buildings will be encouraged to maintain a social distance, and have heightened awareness of potential illness.  If students or staff members are ill, they will be asked to stay home.

Dr. White added that contact tracing will continue.  Current guidance regarding contact tracing exempts those who have been vaccinated from being quarantined.  Vaccinations are encouraged for residents 12 and older.

All of these guidelines could change depending on action by the Marshall County Health Department or the Indiana Department of Health.  Dr. White said any changes will be communicated immediately.
