Triton School Board Considers Hires, Approves Textbook Fees

The Triton Community School Board members approved the hire of a new high school counselor and an athletic consultant.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said Counselor Liska Shilling will be leaving the school corporation after six years of service in that position.  Riffle noted Sarah Arveson will be the High School Counselor while Ashli Faulkner will be taking the Junior High School position.

Riffle stated that assistance was approved for the athletic department.

Riffle stated, “We did approve Mason McIntyre as the Athletic Director Consultant just to continue to help transition Rick Yarbrough, who is our new Athletic Director, into the position.  So, that will be a big help.”

Contracts were also approved for Joshua VanHouten as a social worker/administrative assistant and Sheryl Hochstetler as a speech pathologist.

The school board members also approved the textbook rental fees for the upcoming school year.  Fees for students in grades 3-6 will see a slight increase from last year due to the Social Studies textbook adoption.  Fees at the high school level are dependent on what classes are taken.
