The Triton Community School Corporation was one of a group of schools in the Central Indiana Educational Service Center that is set to share about $2.6 million in programs with Student Learning Recovery Grant Program funds.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle told MAX News that the corporation will benefit with programs for students in the effort.
The Student Learning Recovery Grant Program and Fund, created by House Enrolled Act 1008-2021, provides grants to eligible entities who submit a student learning acceleration plan focused on providing recovery learning and remediation services for K-12 students in schools during the 2020-2021 school year. The grants provide support to students who are experiencing learning loss, realizing a decrease in anticipated grade level academic skills and knowledge, scoring below benchmarks, or are at risk of falling below standards due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Overall, more than $122 million in state grant funds were awarded to 110 community partners and schools across the state to help accelerate student learning this summer and beyond.
