Newly-Appointed Marshall County Judge Discusses Staffing with County Council

Matt Sarber discussed staffing the third Marshall County Superior Court and progress thus far in the new court with the Marshall County Council Monday morning.

Sarber was recently appointed judge of the third Marshall County Superior Court by Governor Eric Holcomb.  He will officially take the bench July 1.  Until that time, he asked the council to extend pay to court staff, such as court reporter, court baliff and court administrator prior to July 1 so training can occur.

“The exact day that I’ve arranged with the Auditor’s Office would be June 21,” stated Sarber. “It would be about eight days of actual pay that they would be paid earlier than July 1.  The council has approved and budgeted from July 1 to December 31.”

The council members unanimously approved the request.  They also unanimously approved the job descriptions for the court reporter, court baliff/administrative assistant and court administrator/assistant court baliff for Marshall Superior Court No. 3 as they mirror positions in Marshall County Circuit Court.
