Surf Broadband Solutions is partnering with Hyperwave Communications in expanding broadband services in Plymouth.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Plymouth Tuesday morning at the Webster Elementary School where the new fiber infrastructure will begin. Bill Haughee with Surf Broadband commented during the ceremony that it will be built out in five areas in the city that will allow high-speed internet access at an affordable cost. The fiber will benefit the schools in the area so students can have the best internet capabilities to complete online assignments and work remotely, if required, and residents will be able to take advantage of the high-speed internet service.
The company will also be able to accommodate low-income families.
Private money will be used for this project.
Installation of infrastructure will begin soon.
Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter was on hand for the groundbreaking of the fiber expansion project and thanked the companies for their effort to improve connectivity in the City of Plymouth.
