The Argos Town Council members looked at a resolution last week that follows action by the Argos Redevelopment Commission and the Planning Commission concerning the proposed Deerfield Meadows subdivision.
It amends the Economic Development Area to be known as a TIF area for the Deerfield Meadows Housing Allocation Area and Single Family Development Housing Program. The Planning Commission members agreed that this amendment conforms to the plan of development for the town.
The Argos School Board previously adopted a similar resolution.
Argos Economic Development Director Mark VanDerWeele said this is a step in many steps in working through the process.
The new TIF District involves the construction of 32 single-family housing units in the Deerfield Meadows subdivision on 21 acres on South Kenilworth that could begin in the latter part of this year or in 2022. The subdivision will be in a housing TIF District, which would make it the fourth TIF District in the Town of Argos.
The town council members approved the resolution with a unanimous vote.
