Everyone is welcome to attend a Grand Opening ceremony Saturday, May 29 at 10 a.m. ET to officially open The Trails at Mill Pond at the Mill Pond Forest.
The Trails at Mill Pond feature a mountain bike trail and a walking trail in Mill Pond Forest off of Rose Road in Plymouth. There are challenging areas in the three miles of trails already cleared in the area and residents are welcome to try out the trails.
Trail developers Jeff Houin and Brandon Calhoun, plus other volunteers, have been working to clear the trail for all users and they plan to create boardwalks or small bridges in areas where mud or water may be more hazardous to bike riders and hikers.
Path signs to direct visitors to bike trails and walking trails will be installed soon so people can follow the right path for safety. They ask that motorized vehicles stay off these paths if being operated in Mill Pond Forest. Additional signage will be installed soon that will involve location information, sponsors and more.
The ceremony will held at the trail head at 12511 South Rose Road in Plymouth at the Mill Pond Forest.
