Town of Bremen Adopts Ordinance for Receipt of American Rescue Plan Funds

The Bremen Town Council members adopted an ordinance Monday night that would allow for the receipt of American Rescue Plan funds.

The Town of Bremen is anticipated to receive over $900,000.  Town Council members will be working with Baker Tilly representatives on how they can allocate those dollars for reimbursement of funds spent during the pandemic and for some future water or wastewater infrastructure plans.  Broadband infrastructure is also a part of the proposed uses of the funds.  However, the guidelines on how to spend the money are not quite complete.

The adoption of the ordinance was the first step in the process.  The Bremen Town Council members will need to come up with a plan soon to spend that money by the end of December 2024.  The first round of funds will come in May and the second round of funds will arrive in May of 2022.
