Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Approves Quote for Police Vehicles

The Plymouth Police Department will be getting two new vehicles after the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved the purchase last week.

Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon explained that he reached out to three Ford dealerships to get quotes for new vehicles, but only one came back.  Oliver Ford in Plymouth provided a quote for two 2021 police utility interceptors.

Chief Bacon said the MSRP on the vehicles is $39,905, but the City of Plymouth price would be $33,603 per vehicle.  The transaction would include the trade-in of a 2014 Ford Taurus sedan for about $4,000.   He stated the net cost after the trade would be $63,206.

Bacon said he would review the paperwork and asked the board to approve the quote.  He added that there is a delay in getting vehicles now as a result of the pandemic and would like to get the order submitted as soon as possible.  The board members approved the request with a unanimous vote.
