Marshall County Highway Superintendent Releases 2021 Road Program

Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters presented the 2021 road program Monday morning. 

It shows 17 miles of triple chip and seal roads, 13.5 miles of paving, and just over 50 miles of regular chip and seal projects for a total of about $2.9 million in road work this summer. 

Peters mentioned that the amount of road work exceeds revenue projections, but they will work within the department’s means in the program. 

Wedge and level operations include 2B from State Road 331 to the county line, North Shore from 3A to 3rd Road, Beech from U.S. 6 to the county line, Kenilworth from 3rd Road to U.S. 6, Pear Road from 14B to 16th Road, Beech from 12B to 14B, and the Pretty Lake area.  Other paving projects include Miami from Plymouth-Goshen Trail to U.S. 6, 14th Road from Muckshaw to U.S. 31, and 1st Road from town limits to Quince.

Chip and seal areas involve portions of Lincolnway from King Road to the county line, Nutmeg Meadows, Nutmeg Road from city limits to 12th Road, 13th Road from Peach to State Road 17, 18th Road from State Road 331 to the county line, Forest Hills Subdivision, Oakcrest subdivision, 1st Road from Miami to King, 17B from State Road 331 to Cedar, 14B from State Road 331 to county line, Thorn Road from 16th to 15th, Fir Road from U.S. 30 to city limits, Ironwood from 1st Road to county line, and West Shore to Lake of the Woods.
