Officials at the Marshall County Health Department will request grant funding from the state to continue COVID-19 testing.
Marshall County Environmental Health Specialist Faith Chapman presented the request to the Marshall County Commissioners on behalf of the Health Department Monday morning.
Chapman stated, “We can apply for the community testing grant. This will be to finish out the year. It’s the same as it was before and it will be for $50,000.”
The commissioners approved the grant request with a unanimous vote.
She added that septic system permits are beginning to increase as construction season is in full swing.
Chapman also noted that vaccinations are decreasing at the Health Department, but with the addition of 12 to 16-year-olds to the vaccine eligibility list, they could increase.
