The Marshall County Council members reviewed information in a grant request last week submitted by Marshall County Public Health Nurse Lisa Letsinger.
“The state had offered $14,040.08 for us to take on an additional 800 doses of Moderna vaccine for vaccinating,” explained Letsinger. “It’s basically helping us pay for the cost of our additional RNs and clerks.”
The council members approved the grant request with a unanimous vote.
She added that the number of COVID-19 vaccination appointments is dwindling.
“In the height of things, we were vaccinating about 180 a day. We’re dropping off significantly. There’s still work to be done.”
COVID-19 vaccination appointments can be made by visiting www.ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
