Marshall County Commissioners Open Demolition Bids for Two Unsafe Structures

Bids were opened by the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning for the demolition of two structures deemed unsafe by the Marshall County Unsafe Building Board.

Two bids were received for the property at 440 Lincoln Highway in Bourbon.  Langfeldt Excavating submitted a bid of $25,375 and Jackson Demolition Services submitted a bid of $63,000.

Two bids were also received for the demolition of the building at 4241 East Shore Drive in Bremen.  Jackson Demolition Services had a bid of $13,000 while Langfeldt Excavating bid $12,845.

The bids will be taken back to the Unsafe Building Board for review by Building Commissioner Steve Howard and the board members.  The board members will ultimately award a bid.  There is not enough money in the demolition fund to do both projects, but an additional appropriation may be requested to award both bids.

The Bremen property may be the first to go as it has been deemed a priority.
