John Glenn School Board Members Approve Change Order for Middle School Project

Crews will be working on a project at Urey Middle School to help with structural integrity in one portion of the school.

John Glenn School Superintendent Christopher Winchell explained to the school board members Tuesday night that the roof over an area by the back entrance of the school along the gymnasium is not structurally sound due to damage to the roof in that area.  He explained that snow piles on the flat roof during the winter caused damage over the years.

It is currently closed off to students, staff and patrons for safety reasons.

The proposed change order includes some steel work, welding, structure work and new roofing.

Three quotes were gathered for the work where Brown and Brown and Morris and Sons presented the lowest quote in the amount of $55,000.  The change order was approved with a unanimous vote.
