Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

Indiana’s County Metrics Map that shows community spread of COVID-19 was updated by the Indiana Department of Health Wednesday. 

Marshall County is in the orange status this week which means a high community spread of COVID-19.  Starke County is in the yellow status which indicates a moderate community spread of COVID-19, while Pulaski County is in the blue status which shows a low community spread of COVID-19. 

Additionally, there were 852 more people in the state who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 including 12 people in Marshall County and four people in Starke County.  Pulaski County did not have any new cases of COVID-19. 

A total of 13,028 people in the state have died of COVID-19, an increase of 10 from Tuesday’s report. 

Residents age 16 and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Appointments can be made by visiting https://ourshot.in.gov or calling 211. A vaccine can be obtained without an appointment at participating clinics.  Those clinics can be found on the state’s website. 

Over 4.6 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Indiana. 

In the state’s weekly long-term care facilities update, 26 new resident COVID-19 cases were reported in the state along with three additional deaths.  There were no additional cases or deaths reported at local facilities.
