The Culver Town Council considered an amended contract with the East Shore Corporation last week.
East Shore Corporation President Fritz Steck explained that the corporation members would like to increase the connection limit from 130 to 150. This would allow underdeveloped parcels a chance to connect into the Conservation District once developed for treatment of sewage at the Town of Culver’s Wastewater Treatment Facility.
The Conservation District recently went online after the failure of a wetland disbursement system in that area that broke down the waste.
With the addition of the connections, Town Attorney Jim Clevenger suggested a capacity buy-in increase to $28,680 since the town will experience an increase of product to treat. Town Councilman Bill Cleavenger suggested raising it to nearly $32,000 as it is a 16 percent increase in usage, but the council agreed to keep it at the town attorney’s figure.
The town council approved a motion to increase the number of connections to 150 and increase the capacity buy-in to $28,680. It will be due by the end of December of this year.
