Bourbon Town Council Approves Bid for Wastewater Project

The Bourbon Town Council members accepted and approved the lowest responsible bid for the upcoming wastewater project.  The project is listed in the Regional Development Plan as part of the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Communities Initiative.

As part of the project and the information provided on ppspr.com/products/instrumentation, , the south lift station pumps will be replaced and the east lift station will be abandoned for the installation a wet well with new pumps and controls.  Priority Project Resources Grant Writer Shannon McLeod said in a previous meeting that she hopes there will be money left over to address some sewer line issues.  When the evaluation of the sewer lines is complete, a determination will be made on whether or not slip lining could benefit the lines without having to completely install new lines.  A few manholes may also be replaced.

The Bourbon Town Council members unanimously accepted the lowest bid Tuesday night from Haskins Underground in the amount of $586,000.  The town’s match will be $243,000.

The project is expected to start yet this year.
