The construction of a new manufacturing center in Plymouth resumed after waiting for some new trusses for the building.
Greg Hildebrand from the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) told the Marshall County Commissioners last week that the initial delivery brought trusses that were too long so new ones had to be manufactured. That issue cost the construction timeline about a month, but crews are on site again getting more work done.
MCEDC President and CEO Laura Walls said marketing of the manufacturing center is going very well, and they are waiting to find an occupant with a competitive asking price.
The building at 2809 Jim Neu Drive will be 43,000 square feet that is expandable to over 100,000 square feet to fit a company’s needs with easy access to U.S. 30 and U.S. 31. Majority Builders is the contractor for the project.
The project cost is about $2.1 million that is funded, in part, by a Regional Development Authority loan of $400,000 and $1.7 million to be financed by the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation through Centier Bank.
