The mobile medical unit operated by the staff at the Marshall County Health Department has been out an about in the county.
The staff members were recently at the Plymouth Community School Corporation, Triton Community School Corporation, Argos Community School Corporation, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, and industries in Plymouth to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to residents wanting the shot.
The new state-of-the-art unit features two exam rooms, a wheelchair lift, three freezers, a refrigerator, large-scale bathroom, and new age material that is highly resistant to germs.
The Mobile Medical Unit was paid for with money received from the CARES Act in 2020. It arrived in Marshall County in late January.
Commissioner Michael Burroughs commented on their hard work during last week’s commissioners meeting.
“That’s exactly the use it was designed for – to be out in the public vaccinating people,” stated Burroughs. I applaud Lisa [Letsinger, Public Health Nurse] and Doc [Dr. Byron Holm, Public Health Officer] and the efforts that they’re all making to get those vaccinated so everyone gets vaccinated – as many as possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Marshall County Health Department.”
Additionally, the Marshall County Health Department hosted a Johnson & Johnson vaccination clinic Saturday, April 10 which they deemed a success in a Facebook post.
