Marshall County residents have been challenged to clean up blocks, streets and parks in order to beautify neighborhoods in a two-week observation effort.
Several student-led efforts, including those at Riverside Elementary School in Plymouth and Triton Community Schools, inspired the Marshall County Crossroads Communications Team to inspire community members to grab some trash bags and clean up the nearest litter piles.
The Community Cleanup Challenge begins April 16 and goes through April 30. Trash bags and personal protective equipment will be provided by INDOT during regular business hours at The Recycle Depot in Plymouth and Bowen Printing in Plymouth. Yard signs will also be available at these locations.
County-level efforts are spearheaded by The Recycle Depot and Marshall County Community Corrections. Other communities are leading efforts as well as private groups such as the REES Theatre Project Committee.
All bagged litter may be dropped off at the Recycle Depot during regular business hours during this two-week challenge only. No large items will be accepted. Aluminum cans, and glass and plastic beverage containers may be pre-sorted as a recycling deposit at the Recycle Depot.
