Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

Starke, Pulaski and Marshall Counties remain in the yellow status this week on the state’s County Metrics Map which indicates a moderate community spread of COVID-19. 

Jasper, La Porte, Porter, and Elkhart Counties are in the orange status this week which shows a high community spread of COVID-19.  They are among seven counties in the state in that status. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced Wednesday that 1,166 additional people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19 including 10 people in Marshall County, eight people in Starke County and three people in Pulaski County. 

Another eight people in the state have died of COVID-19 which raises the total number of deaths to 12,840. 

Over 3.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to Indiana residents age 16 and older.  To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.

The state’s weekly long-term care facilities update shows 37 new resident cases in the state from November 3, 2020 to April 14, 2021, and 14 new resident deaths from May 18, 2020 to April 15, 2021. 

Locally, Parkview Haven in Francesville reported less than five new resident cases of COVID-19 in this week’s report.
