Bourbon Town Council Approves Bid for Police Hummer and Trailer, Community Crossings

The Bourbon Town Council members took action last week to approve a bid for an old Hummer and trailer from the Bourbon Police Department.

The council received two sealed bids for the Hummer and trailer that had a reserve of $10,000.  The bid that met the reserve was from Kathy Ringer in the amount of $10,900.  The Lakeville Conservation Club bid $5,200 and asked that the council consider the bid as the non-profit group members could use the equipment for water quality work at five different lakes.

The council members approved the bid for $10,900.

The town council also took action to approve a bid for upcoming Community Crossings work.  Jones, Petrie and Rafinski representatives reviewed the bids received during the March meeting and recommended Niblock Excavating for approval.  That company submitted the lowest responsible bid of $140,599.55.

Street Superintendent Roger Terry previously said micro sealing will be done on Shaffer Road from State Road 331 to Harris Street and on Liberty Street from State Road 331 to Harris Street.

Additionally, one-and-a-half overlay of asphalt will be applied on E. North Street from Thayer to Lincoln, N. Thayer Street from North to Park, N. Washington Street from Sunset to Liberty, and W. Jackson Street from Third to Ecker.
