Plymouth School Board Considers Extending Paid Sick Leave

The Plymouth Community School Board members considered a resolution that extends the expanded Paid Sick Leave Act, according to Superintendent Andy Hartley.

“That was federal legislation that came through and was required for everybody through December 31, 2020,” explained Hartley.  “We chose to just extend that through this school year for all of our employees. The resolution just formalized that.”

The resolution did pass with a unanimous vote.  Many other school corporations in the county have also extended the paid sick leave time.

It allows employees to be paid a certain amount of days if sick with COVID-19 or in quarantine due to a close contact of someone with COVID-19.
