The Culver Town Council members will soon act on a proposed contract amendment with the East Shore Corporation.
The East Shore Conservancy District and the Culver Town Council came to an agreement last year for the initiation of the district to connect into the town’s Wastewater Plant to treat sewage from homes connected in the district.
Jim Bremner and Fritz Steck explained Tuesday night that there could be up to 130 connections coming soon to the district and they want to be sure that there is an updated contract.
Bremner noted that the corporation plans to close and convey assets to the district in May and will be utilizing the assistance of the Indiana Finance Authority to raise and sell bonds during the process.
The corporation has two pumps on order to upgrade the lift station where the district connects into the town’s system.
The contract will be reviewed by Utility Superintendent Bob Porter, an engineer, and Town Attorney Jim Clevenger where any follow-up questions will be brought to the attention of the corporation leaders. The Culver Town Council members will review it and take action at a future meeting.
