The Argos School Board reviewed information last week regarding the purchase of new student devices.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said the school board members went ahead and approved the purchase of approximately 600 new iPads for students for the next school year.
The cost of the device is $294, plus the $99 cost of the case and keyboard, Apple Care protection at $79, and licensing and filters at $1,750. The total cost per device will be $489. The rental fee per year will be about $100 for parents/guardians and the school corporation will pick up the remainder of the yearly cost for four years out of the Operations Fund budget.
Speicher added that students this school year are either working on a Chromebook or an iPad. Switching to iPads only will help streamline technology.
