Two Additional People Die of COVID-19 in Marshall County

Another two people have died of COVID-19 in Marshall County, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  That drives the number of deaths in Marshall County to 103. 

There were 26 additional COVID-19 deaths reported in the state on Thursday.

There were 1,762 more people in the state diagnosed with COVID-19, with 13 of those people in Marshall County, five in Starke County and one in Pulaski County.  The new overall total of COVID-19 positive tests in Marshall County is 5,325, 1,830 in Starke County and 1,032 in Pulaski County. 

The total number of hospitalizations in the state on Thursday was 1,226. 

Residents over the age of 65, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents and first responders, are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.

As of Thursday, 759,992 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 279,995 are fully vaccinated.

In this week’s long-term care update, counts include historic, previously unconfirmed deaths that were able to be verified.  The state reported 188 new deaths in the state from April 14, 2020 to February 9, 2021.  There were 297 new positive cases from July 14, 2020 to February 9, 2021. 

The number of new deaths and cases represents the information submitted by long-term care facilities to the Indiana Department of Health that could be verified.  As a result, Catherine Kasper Home had less than five new resident cases, Signature Healthcare of Bremen had less than five resident deaths, and Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton had less than five resident positive cases and less than five resident deaths.
