Seven New COVID-19 Cases Reported Locally

Only seven new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the tri-county area, according to Sunday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.

Six more people in Marshall County tested positive, while one more person in Starke County was diagnosed with COVID-19.  For the second day in a row, there were no new positive cases in Pulaski County. 

There were 736 new cases in the state.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Marshall County since March 2020 is 5,423, while in Starke County it is 1,880, and 1,064 in Pulaski County. 

There were 14 new COVID-19 deaths in the state reported Sunday that span from January 17 to February 26. 

Over 8 million COVID-19 tests have been reported to the Indiana Department of Health, including repeat tests, in just over a year. 

Fewer people are in the hospital with COVID-19 with 778 patients in Sunday’s report. 

Hoosiers over the age of 60, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents and first responders are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.

As of Sunday, 992,727 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 565,722 are fully vaccinated.  In Marshall County, 5,907 people have received the first dose, along with 2,730 people in Starke County, and 2,068 people in Pulaski County.   There are 3,725 people who are fully vaccinated in Marshall County, 1,238 people in Starke County and 1,313 people in Pulaski County.
