One Year Later: Over 7.9 Million COVID-19 Tests Reported to Indiana Department of Health

It was February 26, 2020 when the Indiana Department of Health received the first reported COVID-19 test.  Exactly one year later, 7,942,952 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the Department of Health. 

Another 963 Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 which brings the total number of cases to 660,071, according to Friday’s daily COVID-19 report from the Indiana Department of Health. 

Eight more Marshall County residents tested positive with COVID-19, along with three more Starke County residents and one more Pulaski County resident.  Since March of 2020, 5,414 people in Marshall County 1,872 people in Starke County and 1,065 people in Pulaski County have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

An additional 33 people have died from COVID-19 in the state which raises the total number of COVID-19 deaths to nearly 12,100.  It increases by 433 if probable deaths are included. 

Indiana residents over the age of 60, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents and first responders are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.

As of Friday, 963,225 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, including 5,757 people in Marshall County, 2,609 people in Starke County and 1,987 people in Pulaski County.  Almost 532,000 people are fully vaccinated in the state, including 3,528 people in Marshall County, 1,193 people in Starke County and 1,256 people in Starke County.
