Marshall County Coroner John Grolich asked the commissioners Monday morning for a pre-pay for a vehicle. The coroner’s vehicle was previously approved to be purchased with CARES Act funding as the coroner does transport decedents who died of COVID-19.
Grolich said the cost is $37,217 to Crossroads Ambulance Sales and Service in Middlebury.
The commissioners approved the request with a unanimous vote.
Grolich said the new strain of COVID-19 could cause more deaths. He believes that the pandemic is “far from over”.
