Another 824 Hoosiers Test Positive with COVID-19

The daily number of Indiana residents testing positive with COVID-19 remains lower with 824 new cases in Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  Of those cases, four additional people in Marshall County tested positive with COVID-19, along with two people in Starke County and three people in Pulaski County.

The state reported another 35 COVID-19 deaths, pushing that overall total to 11,982.  That total increases by 425 if probable deaths are included. 

There was a slight increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations Sunday with 878 people listed as being treated for the novel coronavirus in hospitals around the state. 

As of Monday, the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 5,415 Marshall County residents, 2,378 Starke County residents and 1,796 residents in Pulaski County.  The number of fully vaccinated residents continues to climb with 2,855 people in Marshall County, 847 people in Starke County and 1,091 people in Pulaski County. 

In Monday’s updated school coronavirus dashboard, there were 407 new student cases in the state ranging from January 6 to February 19, 81 new teacher cases from January 18 to February 19, and 86 new staff cases from January 10 to February 19.

Locally, there were less than five new student COVID-19 cases at Bremen High School and at John Glenn High School.
