Town of Bremen Prepares for Round Two in Stellar Projects

Mike Reese from The Troyer Group

The Bremen Town Council members are preparing for the second round of projects outlined for the town in the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Communities Initiatives plan.

Mike Reese from The Troyer Group presented the town council with documents for approval that would move the Jackson Street revitalization project to the design and construction phase.  Surveying and engineering phases will follow before project is let for bid in April or May with construction starting in July or August.

The project includes a flex street on South Jackson Street that can be utilized for a host of events including a pavilion and parking, along with a gathering space, expanding sidewalks and curbs with more pedestrian space, lighting, parking, and renovating alleys with lighting and art to make them a more friendly space.  The project may also include charging stations for electric cars, but that is still in the discussion stages.

The project is anticipated to be funded by INDOT through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and match money provided by the town.

The Bremen Town Council members approved the documents submitted with a unanimous vote.
