Plymouth School Superintendent Updates School Board on Lincoln Education Center

The construction of the Lincoln Education Center in Plymouth is moving ahead on time.

It is part of the overall construction project that involved the demolition of the old Lincoln Junior High School, the construction of a new Lincoln Junior High School, and renovation of a portion of the old building that will house cooperative educational offices, vocational offices, special education offices, and adult education programming.

Superintendent Andy Hartley presented on the renovation efforts Tuesday night.

Hartley stated, “We are at a place this week where they’re starting to carpet.  The interior walls are painted aside from the touchup items.  The ceiling grid is pretty well done.  They just need to finish up the ceiling tiles.  There’s a lot of finishing work.

Masonry work is nearly complete.  There is some wash work that needs to be done.  Hartley believes that it will match nicely when finished.  Interior work is ongoing with the stairwells along with entrance.

Hartley hopes that those occupying the building will be able to move into the space during spring break.

The parking lot will not be paved until late May.
