Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller asked the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members last week to hire a firefighter/EMT.
“I’m going to go with the firefighter/EMT minimum,” stated Miller. “I moved a person into that spot that already has a paramedic so I utilized with what I had within staff to make up my gap.”
The board members approved the request with a unanimous vote.
Meanwhile, Culver-Union Township Fire Chief Terry Wakefield told the Culver Town Council members last week that he is looking for volunteer firefighters to serve with the department. Firefighters in Culver must be at least 21 years of age with initial training complete within the first year of appointment. Applications may be found online at townofculver.org.
