Marshall County under Travel Advisory

While total snow and ice accumulation amounts may be low in a storm headed to Northern Indiana, Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery and Marshall County Highway Superintendent are issuing an Advisory level travel advisory in place Monday afternoon as a precaution.   Road conditions are expected to deteriorate as inclement weather enters the area around 5 p.m.

The Advisory level is the lowest level of local travel advisories and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation.

According to the National Weather Service, the accumulation of one to two inches of snow is expected in the Marshall County area. Precipitation will begin as snow and change to a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain which will lead to slick road conditions.  Sidewalks will be slick and could increase the number of slips, trips, and falls.

County officials will monitor conditions and make changes if necessary.
