Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters presented to the commissioners the county’s application for the first call for Community Crossings funding in 2021.
Peters said the projects include Michigan from U.S. 31 to Argos city limits, West Shore from city limits to South Shore in Culver, 3A Road from East Shore to Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Muckshaw from 13th to 14th Road, and Sycamore from U.S. 6 to 4B Road.
He said the total estimate of these projects is just over $1.5 million and the state would match up to $1 million. To complete the funding for all of the projects, the county would provide the match of $508,777. The Marshall County Council provided support for the application at their last meeting.
If the projects come in over estimated bids, then the projects can be adjusted to meet the budget.
The commissioners unanimously approved the list of projects as presented. The application is due January 29.
