Bremen School Board Reorganizes, Superintendent Gives COVID-19 Update

The Bremen School Board met for the first time in 2021 Wednesday night where Brian Teall was retained as board president, Todd Huff was chosen as vice president and Todd Stuckman was selected as secretary.

Stephanie Pittman was reappointed as treasurer of the school corporation.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White told MAX News that the corporation has been fortunate not to have many issues with COVID-19, but this week two students tested positive which led to 70 students having to isolate due to contact tracing.  He commented that students who have had to isolate do not typically test positive for the virus.  He is hopeful that remains the case.

To date, the school has reported a total of 32 COVID-19 positive student cases to the Indiana Department of Health.  At the High School, less than five teacher cases and less than five staff positive cases were reported.  The numbers at the Middle/Elementary School show less than five teacher positive cases and seven staff positive cases.
