Bourbon Redevelopment Commission Holds First Meeting of 2021

The Bourbon Redevelopment Commission members met for the first time in 2021 Tuesday night where the members reorganized for the year.  Les McFarland was chosen as president, Bob Firestone as vice president and Athena Stenstrom as secretary.  Other members include Jason Lemler, Bobby Goodman and non-voting member Terri Barnhart who is president of the Triton Community School Board.

The Bourbon Town Council members appointed the members to the Redevelopment Commission at their monthly meeting this month.

Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi presented the members with an overview of their legal duties and responsibilities, how TIF Districts are designed to function and the allowed expenditures of TIF District funds.  Their role in the economic development of Bourbon was also outlined.

The members will soon make economic development plans for the Town of Bourbon and how TIF funds will benefit those plans.
