The Argos Town Council members last week asked Town Attorney Derek Jones to review an agreement to hire an attorney to do the paperwork for a proposed fire territory.
In August of last year, the council approved a request to conduct a fire territory study in order to maintain an EMS Department and Fire Department for the Town of Argos, Green Township and Walnut Township.
The study compiled by Baker Tilly officials would indicate if a Fire Territory would benefit all entities as there may not be the means available to adequately fund the EMS and Fire Departments.
Discussions of needed costly equipment and personnel issues have led to this study and the council members hope that it will provide some answers on how to move forward in providing critical services for residents.
