Another COVID-19 Death Reported in Pulaski County, More Positive Cases in Tri-County Area

Another person in Pulaski County has died of COVID-19 which brings the total number of deaths in the county to 38.  A total of 9,592 people in the state have died from COVID-19 which is an increase of 43 from Friday’s report.

An additional 27 people in Marshall County have been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to Saturday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  Starke County had seven new cases and Pulaski County had four.  The State announced that 2,389 more people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19 for a new state total of 624,959. 

The number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital has dropped to 1,648, the lowest number since late October.

Residents who are 70 and older, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents and first responders, are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule a vaccination appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.

As of Saturday, 551,527 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 137,823 are fully vaccinated.

According to Starke County Health Nurse Frank Lynch, vaccination appointments are available in Starke County Saturday, February 6 from 10 a.m. 4 p.m. CT.  Again, those appointments can be made at https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.  Walk-ins cannot be accepted at this time.  Lynch added that scheduling is open for March but it will be open for only 30 percent of first doses and the remaining for second doses.
