Plymouth School Board Considers Classified Staff Matters

The Plymouth School Board members reviewed revisions Tuesday night to classified conditions of employment and wage increases for classified staff.

Superintendent Andy Hartley explained the changes in wages.

“A 35-cent-per-hour increase across the board for hourly employees, or a $1,400 increase for salaried employees who fall under these classified conditions,” said Hartley.  “Additionally, we are increasing the insurance contributions from the corporation to reflect that which we did for teachers.  So, everybody is there.”

Other changes were made to personal days.

“Many of our classified staff, as a part of their conditions, have typically just received one personal day.  We wanted to add that for those employees for that has previously been the case, if they’ve been with us for five consecutive years then they will receive two personal days a year.”

Hartley noted that the changes will be effective on the January 22, 2021 pay date.

The school board members approved the recommendations with a unanimous vote.
