North Liberty, Walkerton Elementary Projects out for Bid

The renovation projects at North Liberty and Walkerton Elementary Schools went out for bid last week.

The renovation project at North Liberty Elementary School includes an update in HVAC units and controls, a new secured entrance, LED lighting, new ceilings, and replacing windows.  At Walkerton Elementary, upgrades will be on the front end of the control system, replacing oldest windows, and a new secured entryway.

Additionally, bids will be taken on some roofing at Urey Middle School.

According to a schedule put together by Barton Coe Vilamaa officials, a pre-bid meeting will be held December 29 and then bids will be received and opened during the school board’s next meeting on January 12.  Depending on how the bids come in, the John Glenn School Board members can review recommendations on projects that fit a $5 million budget.  Some other items could be added, assuming bids come in at a reasonable level.
