Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board Moves Forward with MACOG to Develop Five-Year Plan

The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board members signed papers last week to work with MACOG to help them develop a five-year plan at no cost to the county.

In a previous meeting, MACOG Executive Director James Turnwald said there will be six or seven chapters in the five-year master plan which will review an introduction of the parks department and its vision and goals, existing conditions of the county, existing conditions focused on parks and facilities, ADA accessibility, a needs analysis, and action strategies.

Several opportunities will be available for public engagement during the process.

The park board members will be putting together a steering committee to help with public engagement in outlining potential projects at a few county-owned park spaces in a five-year plan.
