Marshall County Jail Inmates Test Positive for COVID-19

A Strike Team from the State Board of Health was called to the Marshall County Jail Wednesday to investigate a reported outbreak of COVID-19.

The coronavirus has apparently been diagnosed in nearly 40 inmates after displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

According to the Marshall County Health Department, a Strike Team from the State Board of Health is taking measures to test all employees and inmates at the jail to determine a total amount of people who have tested positive.  They will then form a plan of how to separate inmates and keep staff as safe as possible.

Marshall County Health Department officials will work to follow guidelines set forth by the state and the CDC to properly handle the matter.
