Marshall County Older Adult Services Executive Director Janis Jeffirs Holiday presented INDOT grant paperwork to the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning to complete the purchase of two new transport vehicles.
A 12-passenger, medium-sized transit bus, and a minivan will replace two older vehicles on the fleet. Holiday said the purchase through the INDOT grant typically comes with a 20 percent local match, but the local match is coming from the state for this transaction.
The commissioners approved the INDOT grant agreement for the purchase of the vehicles.
Holiday noted that transportation requests are still at a reduced level, but they still offer transportation to residents in need of the service.
